To Assist Persons with spinal cord Injuries and other disabilities to achieve independance, self reliance and full community participation. Learn more about us.
Through our Quality of Life Program, individuals living with a mobility disability or have an individual with a mobility disability living at home may receive assistance from SCI NL to access or raise funds to offset their enormous financial burdens. These funds provide payments directly to the service providers who offer products and services that will promote independence, self-reliance and full community participation.
How the Program Works
If you are an individual with a Spinal Cord Injury or Significant Mobility Impairment in need of support and do not have the financial resources necessary to overcome your barriers to independence, self-reliance and full community participation, we can help.
Contact us to see if your need fits into one of our program criteria:
Enabling Accessibility: programs that help people with a spinal cord injury or mobility disability to overcome obstacles to full participation in society –operate voice-activated computer technology, modify homes and vehicle to make them wheelchair accessible, access transportation services, equipment purchases and more.
Team or Event Sponsorship: sponsorships toward groups or individuals to take part in sporting or recreational activities that promotes community participation. These grants assist individuals or groups offsetting the costs associated with equipment, travel, application fees, rental, etc.
Step 1: Identifying your eligibility for direct funding programs
We will assess your current position and identify any and all Government and third party sources for funding and assist you with the application process which includes identifying the best equipment, resources and providers to fit your needs. We will follow through with the process until you have received and are satisfied with the outcome.
Step 2: Setting up your fund raising campaign
In the event that you are not currently eligible for any current direct funding, we will help you raise the necessary funds. To do this we will guide you through a step by step process to set up an individual funding campaign through crowd funding sources such as gofundme. We will supplement the program through advertisement on our website, social media and through email mailers. This will allow you to raise the necessary funds and achieve your goal.
