Position: Career & Employment Disability Case Manager
Location: Happy Valley-Goose Bay, NL
Job Type: Full Time, Contractual Until March 31st, 2021 with the possibility of extension pending government funding
Salary: $36,000 – $40,000 per annum
Overview:
This is a professional position requiring the incumbent to work in a regional office environment providing client services using a case management approach.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Using a client-centered approach with persons with disabilities who are facing barriers to employment, i.e., mobility, physical, learning disability, etc.:
Identify, in a collaborative manner, employment needs that could be addressed by an appropriate intervention, providing supports required to ensure a positive outcome.
Identify client’s needs and skill enhancement requirements; examine eligibility; explore intervention options and develop a Return to Work Action Plan.
Apply employment counselling skills through established interventions to assist clients facing complex employment issues and counsel clients to resolve barriers to employment, identify employment difficulty, review employment constraints in relation to employment difficulty, determine counselling goals and objectives, develop and document action plan and interventions by using the ARMS (Accountability & Resource Management System) and conduct on-going assessment of results.
Conduct on-going review of client action plan, evaluate client commitment, counsel client progress, reassess and adjust action plan accordingly and record results in ARMS. Provide clients with information and guidance on available employment programs and services including career planning, resume preparation, job search, interview skills and other entrepreneurial information.
Qualifications:
Working knowledge of counselling techniques, career planning, career development theory, job search techniques, post-secondary education system and current Federal/Provincial career development and training resources including knowledge of the changing labour market. Graduation with a degree in Social Sciences, Education or related field; or any equivalent combination of experience and training.
Additional Skills:
Computer skills, Assessment Component of Employment Counselling (ACEC) and knowledge of ARMS would be an asset.
