CPA NL 2012 Award Winners

On June 28th 2012 at the Canadian Paraplegic Association of Newfoundland and Labrador AGM, John Piercey was Named the 2012 Adrian Battcock Award Recipient. Each year the Canadian Paraplegic Association NL honours an individual with a physical disability who has displayed integrity, perseverance, leadership and outstanding achievement. The award was presented by Stuart Tiller (CPANL Board Member) to Carla Piercey (Mr. Piercey’s daughter as he was unable to attend the meeting).

Our other award recipients were:

• Life Membership Award 2012 – Heather Johnson – Awarded to an Individual who has dedicated years of unselfish support to the goals and vision of the CPA.
• Honorary Membership Award 2012 – Ron Butler – Given to an individual who has made a unique contribution to the overall mission and goals of the CPA.
• Honorary Membership Award 2012 – Bridget Obrien – Given to an individual who has made a unique contribution to the overall mission and goals of the CPA.
• Outstanding Corporate Member 2012 – Chris Hutton (East Coast Converters) – Awarded to a Corporate partner whose support and vision allows us to assist person with disabilities achieve their dream.
• Caregiver of the Year 2012 – Cindy Taylor – Awarded to an individual who has provided service above and beyond the call of duty in the role of caregiver to an individual with a physical disability.
• Special Contribution Award 2012 – Eleanor Holloway – Awarded to an individual who has provided the organization with a special or unique contribution.
